Thank you for using Ask Alexa! This Privacy Policy (this "Policy") sets forth the online information practices of the author of Ask Alexa (the "Author"), including:

Ask Alexa's code creation scripts are web-enabled, which means data travels across the internet to Ask Alexa web server(s) to provide you with your personalized code.

The Ask Alexa web server(s) may collect two kinds of information from you: personally-identifiable information that you choose to provide to us and non personally-identifiable information, such as your IP address.

  1. Personally-Identifiable Information
    1. SmartApp instances' access information
      This includes your Ask Alexa Application ID, your SmartThings access token (derived from your SmartApp's OAuth information) your SmartThings access server locations and the names of the devices, macros and extensions. This information is required to provide you with your code with these variables already placed into the code.
  2. Non Personally-Identifiable Information
    1. IP Addresses
      An IP Address is a number used by computers on a network to identify your computer so that data can be transmitted to you. We collect IP Address information in order to administer our web site and to gather broad demographic information.
    2. Cookies
      Cookies are pieces of data that a web site sends to a user's computer while the user is viewing the site. Cookies identify your web browser and store information about your visits, but do not reveal any personally-identifiable information about you. We may use cookies to understand what parts of our site users are visiting the most and to help us improve our site.
  3. Information Sharing
    We will NOT share personally-identifiable and/or non personally-identifiable information with anyone except when required to do so under law or in cooperation with a legal request in connection with any law enforcement investigation or other public safety matter.

You are not required to use this Ask Alexa service to produce your Lambda code or produce your Amazon Developer site JSON code. You may still access the raw Lambda code and other developer information via the GitHub site outlined in the instructions here:

The Author reserves the right to modify this Policy without advance notice to you. However, you can review the current version of this Policy by clicking on the "Privacy Policy" link on your Setup Variables web page. You hereby acknowledge and agree that you will be bound by such modifications.  In the Author's sole and absolute discretion, in the event the Author makes a material change to this Policy, the Author may post a note (or updated the revision date) at the top of this Policy stating that a material change was made.

On the Setup Variables page, you may have the opportunity to follow a link from or to other web sites maintained by third-parties. Since these other web sites may not be hosted or controlled by the Author, and the Author is not responsible for the privacy practices of those web sites.
